Virtual Therapy in California
Jeremi is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist working virtually in California.
As a therapist
I work with people using Internal Family Systems (IFS) and somatics to help build a different relationship with the parts of themselves that have been doing the managing, protecting, and holding it together. My approach is trauma-informed: we move at the pace your system can actually integrate, and I pay close attention to what's happening in your body, not just your thoughts about your life.
I hold mind, body, and spirit together in the layered contexts of family, relationships, and culture. Many of the people I work with are navigating identity — sexuality, gender, or their relationship to the faith they were raised in — and IFS is especially suited to that terrain, where so much lives in internalized voices and parts of self that haven't yet been fully known or welcomed home. I commit to doing my own ongoing work to educate myself around blind spots, and I strive to show up in humility and self-awareness.
Who I work with
I often work with:
- Queer and gender-expansive people untangling who they are from what they were taught to be
- People carrying religious trauma or interested in finding their own spiritual path
- Couples navigating attachment ruptures, mismatched nervous systems, or the joy and strain that can come with one or both partners holding queer identity
- Clinicians and helping professionals, especially those serving low-income or marginalized communities, who need a therapist who understands the layered, identity-aware terrain they hold for others
How I work
I bring together several trained modalities, chosen because identity and religious trauma work often live below the reach of talk alone:
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) & Somatic IFS — for building a relationship with the parts of you that have been managing, protecting, and holding things together, especially around gender, sexuality, or faith
- Hakomi — a mindfulness-based, body-centered approach that lets us work with what's happening beneath conscious awareness, gently and non-intrusively
- Gestalt Therapy (Associateship, Bay Area Gestalt Institute) — present-moment, relational work that helps unfinished business — including religious and family-of-origin material — become workable in the here and now
- Tamalpa Life/Art Process — somatic and expressive arts work for people whose story doesn't fully resolve in words alone
- PACT (Level 2) — a psychobiological approach to couples work, for partners navigating attachment, conflict, and nervous-system mismatches
- Somatic Couples Therapy (Love Made Simple, The Couples Center) — integrative, body-based work for couples
- Safe and Sound Protocol — a listening-based therapy that supports nervous system regulation, often alongside the above
